Goldwind sold its wholly-ownedblade company Tianhe Blade to Sinomatech in May and in October announced the sale of an 80% stake ina generator manufacturing subsidiary to Chinese railway group CNR.

This allowed the firm to reduce its headcountto 3,600, without laying people off, Wang Haibo, Goldwind's president, toldan industry event.

“Basicallythere were no workers who lost their jobs,” he said.

China’s biggest turbine manufacturer, Goldwindhas been under pressure to cut costs as it faces slower demand in the domesticmarket and constant pressure on prices.
