Vestas has booked 450MW of orders to supply two projects in the US that are under development by EDF Renewable Energy.

The Danish wind group will deliver 150 V100-2.0 MW turbines for the 300 MW Roosevelt wind project in New Mexico, and 75 V110-2.0 MW machines to the 150 MW Slate Creek development in Kansas.

Both orders are part of the 1.17GW ‘master supply agreement’ announced between Vestas and EDF RE in September 2013.

With the latest orders, Vestas has booked 944MW under that arrangement.

Both orders include three-year service agreements.

Delivery to Slate Creek is due in the third quarter of 2015, with commissioning expected by the end of next year.

Shipments to Roosevelt – which Vestas said will be the largest wind farm in New Mexico – are expected in Q2 2015, with that project also slated for commissioning in the fourth quarter.

Vestas’ said its factories in Colorado “are expected to be involved in the manufacturing of the nacelles, blades and towers for both projects”, both of which it added “have long-term power purchase agreements in place with creditworthy counterparties”.
