Dutch project management specialist OutSmart has inked a long-term operations deal with compatriot NOP Agrowind for the largest wind farm in the Netherlands, the eponymous 195MW NOP Agrowind development.

OutSmart, will handle a wide-ranging brief on the project, part of the larger Windpark Noordoostpolder, encompassing technical operations, performance analysis and HSE co-ordination for a fleet of 26 of Enercon 7.5MW E126 turbines, cabling, substation and auxiliaries.

“Providing the technical operations for this large-scale onshore wind farm shows that our way of working is being recognized in the wind energy market," says Dennis Schiricke, director of OutSmart, a subsidiary of certification body TÜV Nord.

NOP Agrowind project director André Andringa adds: "Although our actual focus is mainly on the construction of the wind farm, we are also preparing the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase for the project.

"This phase will run parallel with the construction phase as from the moment that the first turbine produces electricity."

The NOP Agrowind wind farm, which is expected to flow enough power to supply 180,000 households, is slated to be switched on in August.
