Nordex wins 44MW in Turkey

Nordex is upping its blade production capabilities

Nordex will produce blades locally to attract a better FIT

German wind group Nordex has announced 44.4MW of turbine orders in Turkey, and said local production will ensure their output enjoys maximum feed-in tariffs (FITs).

Nordex will deliver six of its Generation Delta N117/3000 machines to developer Sancak Enerji for its Urla wind farm in Izmir.

Nine Generation Gamma N117/2400 turbines will go to the Yenihisar wind farm planned by Yeni Enerji in southern Turkey.

Bicakcilar Enerji will take two N117/2400 turbines for its Pitane wind farm, also in the Izmir region.

All three customers are first-time developers, Nordex said.

The German group will variously produce towers and blades for the project in Turkey, ensuring they qualify for higher support under the national FIT.

Local sourcing adds $0.014/kWh to the basic FIT of $0.073/kWh, Nordex said.
