Nordex is set to ship more N117s to Uruguay

Uruguay's state power company UTE will have its 140MW Pampa wind farm operational in the Tacuarembó department by the end of the first half of 2015 – with Germany’s Nordex in line to supply turbines, the Uruguyan government said.

According to UTE's president, Gonzalo Casaravilla, Pampa will be the largest wind farm in the country.

Nordex spokesperson Felix Losada told Recharge that the deal has not yet been closed, and requires all contracts to be signed and the first down payment made before the company can include it in its order portfolio.

However, Losada expects agreements to be finalised in coming months that will see Nordex supply 59 2.4MW turbines of the N117 model for the Pampa wind farm.

“Uruguay is a very important market for us and we are also looking at Chile,” said Losada.
