The first batch of foundations for the Westermost Rough offshore wind farm have arrived on site.

The first foundations arrived in eastern England for installation by contractor GeoSea at the Dong Energy-owned 210MW Westermost Rough, reports the Grimsby Telegraph.

Installation will be carried out by the jack-up vessel Innovation.

The wind farm will use Siemens’ new 6MW offshore turbines and is due to be fully operational in the first half of 2015.

Danish energy giant Dong is using Grimsby as its construction and O&M base for Westermost Rough.
