A Scottish court has thrown out a challenge by US tycoon Donald Trump to consent for an offshore wind turbine test site in Aberdeen Bay.

Trump petitioned the Court of Session in Edinburgh for a judicial review of the Scottish government’s go-ahead for the European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC), an 11-turbine project led by Swedish utility Vattenfall.

Trump has waged an aggressive campaign against the project, claiming it would ruin the views from his luxury golf resort on the shore.

The businessman's legal team claimed the decision by Scottish ministers was flawed on several grounds and that a public enquiry should have been held.
