A joint-venture between German utility EnBW and Turkish holding company Borusan has signed a framework agreement with turbine maker Vestas over an onshore wind portfolio with a total capacity of 207MW to be developed successively across five locations in Turkey.

EnBW says it is its biggest onshore wind development order so far, as well as the largest in the Turkish wind market ever.

Borusan EnBW Enerji plans to erect  Vestas’ V112 turbines that have a 3MW capacity each, a tower height of 84 metres and a rotor diameter of 112 metres.

Construction on the first project, a 27MW expansion of the Bandirma wind park in northwestern Turkey, is slated to start as soon as possible, EnBW says.
