E.ON seeks 57MW Scots wind OK

German utility E.ON has submitted a planning application to the Scottish government for a 57MW wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway.

E.ON wants to site up to 19 turbines at the Quantans Hill plant near Carsphairn.

It said it had adjusted its plans to minimise visual impact at the site following consultations with local residents.

The company said it will plough up to £285,000 ($472,000) a year into local community projects if it gets the go-ahead.
