Scottish energy minister Fergus Ewing hailed the potential for Scotland and Norway to drive forward renewables in Europe as he visited Oslo for the Recharge Holmenkollen 2014 Thought Leaders Summit.

Ewing will make what the Scottish Government described as a “major speech” at today’s Holmenkollen event – organised by Recharge and attended by some of the biggest names in the global renewables industry.

Ewing is meeting key Norwegian companies, including Statoil, and said the two have plenty in common as countries blessed with significant energy resources and “astounding potential” for renewables.

The minister said: “Building on our hydro heritage and offshore energy engineering expertise gained from North Sea oil and gas, our nations are clearly both well-placed to make a huge Log in to read complete article.
