Vestas picks up 110MW US order

Vestas has bagged a 110MW order from an undisclosed customer in the US, with delivery of the turbines slated for the latter half of 2014.

The deal, which includes 55 of the Danish turbine maker’s V100-2.0MW machines, comes with a five-year Active Output Management 4000 service agreement.

At the customer’s request, neither the buyer nor the project name were revealed.

After delivering the turbines in late 2014, Vestas intends to commission them in early 2015.

The announcement came hot on the heels of Vestas revealing a 150MW order from First Wind in the for its Route 66 project in Texas, with the possibility of expanding that deal to nearly 700MW.
