Offshore wind will be one of the areas the partners explore

French power equipment group Areva will co-operate with Korean utility Kepco on renewable energy.

Areva said a memorandum of understanding will see it work with Kepco to seek commercial opportunities in “offshore wind, energy storage, concentrated solar power (CSP), and biomass”.

It said biomass will be the focus of their collaboration in Southeast Asia.

No further details were given of the planed co-operation between Areva and Kepco, South Korea’s largest utility.
