Vestas has confirmed details of a 155MW order from Mexico for one of its newly-launched wind turbine variants.

The Danish manufacturer will equip the Energía Sierra Juarez project with 47 of its V112-3.3 MW machines, one of the 3MW platform variants it unveiled in April.

The wind farm in the Mexican state of Baja California will take delivery of the turbines from the third quarter of 2014, with commissioning due in Q1 2015.

The order has been placed by Energía Sierra Juarez, a unit of Mexican energy group IEnova, and includes a five-year service agreement.
