AMSC wins $30m India Inox order

AMSC says it has received an order valued at more than $30m for wind turbine electrical control systems from licensee Inox Wind in India, and expects to begin deliveries in the current quarter.

The order is the fifth and largest for 2MW wind turbines whose design Inox licensed from AMSC in May 2009. Shipments will be completed in 2014, AMSC says.

"To date, we have installed nearly 250MW of high-quality, reliable, cost-competitive wind turbines in India, a solid step toward our objective of becoming India's premiere wind power company," says Inox wind director Devansh Jain, director of Inox Wind
