Butendiek
is
to
be
erected
about
32km
west
of
the
island
of
Sylt
near
the
German-Danish
border
in
waters
about
20-meters
deep.
Slated
to
come
online
in
2015,
the
wind
park
will
have
a
capacity
of
288MW.
Butendiek
is
the
eighth
offshore
wind
power
plant
order
that
Siemens
has
won
in
German
waters.
“By
2020,
we
estimate
that
the
combined
installed
electrical
generating
capacity
of
wind
power
installations
worldwide
will
reach
500GW,”
says
Felix
Ferlemann,
CEO
of
Siemens
Energy’s
Wind
Power
Division.
