Nordex sees big German growth, sells first 3MW

German manufacturer Nordex's chief executive has predicted big growth in its home market this year, as it unveiled the first order for its new N117/3000 turbine.

Nordex will deliver two of the 3MW machines to a wind farm in Finland being developed by Raahen Tuulienergia.

Nordex sees good growth potential in northern Europe generally, and is optimistic that it can massively increase its share in its onshore German domestic market, chief executive Jürgen Zeschky told Recharge.

Order intakes from 2012 show a significant increase in Germany, Zeschky said.

“It takes some six to nine months until that translates into a market share, depending on the project,” Zeschky said. “Regarding installations, we will come close to a double-digit figure.”
