Motorola Mobility joins WindMade

Motorola Mobility meets 66% of its US operation's needs with wind power

Motorola Mobility has become the latest major global company to be awarded the WindMade label.

The Google-owned mobile technology group gained WindMade status after demonstrating that 66% of its US operation’s needs are met by wind power.

The initiative aims to help participating business show consumers their active commitment to renewable energy.

Bill Olson, sustainability director for Motorola Mobility, says: "WindMade certification validates our sustainability efforts and helps to distinguish our company and its products."

WindMade, which is backed by the UN Global Compact and conservation group WWF, requires participating companies to obtain at least 25% of their electricity from wind power.
