Swedish utility Vattenfall has pushed back the planned construction start-date for an extension to its Kentish Flats offshore wind farm in southeast England while it works with a local airport to resolve radar issues.

Vattenfall is working with nearby Manston Airport on a radar mitigation plan as part of efforts to secure final UK government approval for the up to 17-turbine extension to the existing 90MW wind farm.

The utility had originally planned to start construction work on the extension next year, but says the schedule has been pushed into 2015 to allow time for the radar strategy to be implemented.
