Reef D&E wraps at Greater Gabbard

Reef Subsea Dredging & Excavation (D&E) has finished up more than two years of work at Greater Gabbard, giving the ambitious player a firm footing to win new contracts in the next phase of European offshore wind development.

Reef’s involvement at Greater Gabbard included excavation work around the base of some 100 monopile foundations to enable cable entry at the J-tube approach; burial of 80 or so cable-approaches to the monopiles; and remedial work for some of the inter-array cables.

The full project includes 140 Siemens turbines, and is owned jointly by SSE and RWE npower renewables.

“Greater Gabbard is one of our greatest references in the renewables market, and we look forward to working again for this valuable client,” says Reef D&E managing director Niels-Henrik Brodtkorb.
