Bladt tackles Northwind substation

Bladt has worked for the London Array

Danish steel contractor Bladt Industries has received the pre-fabricated substation for Belgium’s Northwind offshore wind project, and must now race to kit it out in time for a planned June installation.

Bladt says the substation arrived at its yard in Aalborg in two sections just before the new year, the steel frame having been pre-fabricated by a subcontractor in Poland.

Bladt will now install all the electrical equipment and other components required to harness the 72 Vestas 3MW turbines destined for Northwind, formerly known as Eldepasco.
