Iberdrola sells 321MW of French onshore wind to GE and others

Iberdrola is selling a 321MW French onshore wind farm portfolio to a consortium that includes GE and EDF.

The Spanish group will receive €350m ($462m) straight away for the assets of Iberdrola Renewable France (IBRF), which operates 32 wind farms, plus a further €50m later if certain conditions are met.

After the deal IBRF will be owned by GE and MEAG, the asset management arm of Munich Re, which will both hold 40%.

The remaining 20% will be owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles, the renewables arm of the French utility.

Iberdrola told investors in Madrid that the deal does not include its French offshore wind activities or its onshore development portfolio.
