Enel Green Power starts work at 90MW Chile wind project

Italy’s Enel Green Power (EGP) has started construction work at its 90MW Valle de Los Vientos wind farm in Antofagasta, Chile.

The 45-turbine project will cost $140m to build and is part of plans by the Italian group to add 250MW of new wind power in the South American nation by 2016, says EGP.

Last month EGP agreed to buy the 90MW Talinay wind farm project in Chile from Vestas.

No timeframe is given for commissioning of Valle de Los Vientos, or details of turbine supplier.
