Mitsubishi partnership talks 'still on' says Vestas official

Talks between Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas and Japanese conglomerate Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) over a strategic cooperation agreement "are very much still on", vice president for global marketing and communications Morten Albaek tells Recharge.

Albaek refuted some media and analyst speculation that discussions had gone cold and said that they are proceeding, without going into details of the negotiations or giving a timeframe for expected completion. Vestas announced that it was in talks with MHI in late August.

Recharge understands that although Vestas has had talks with other companies – and is keen to show that it has a "Plan B" – an agreement with Mitsubishi remains its preferred option.
