Scottish Water and Eneco link for 54MW wind farm project

Utility Scottish Water may build a 54MW wind farm on its land in Angus, eastern Scotland.

Scottish Water has given developer Eneco Wind UK the rights to assess the site for a possible 18-turbine plant at the Backwater Reservoir near Kirriemuir.

The project, called Macritch Hill, could meet almost one-third of Scottish Water’s annual power requirements, say the partners.

Eneco will this month begin public consultations, environmental assessments and technical surveys to determine the final scale and design of the planned wind farm.
