decision
clears
the
way
for
Statoil
North
America
to
submit
a
detailed
plan
for
a
proposed
pilot
12MW,
four-turbine
project
that
will
demonstrate
an
“optimized”
version
of
its
spar-type
Hywind
floating
technology.
Statoil
first
launched
a
version
of
Hywind
in
June
2009
off
Karmøy,
Norway,
the
world’s
first
utility-scale
floating
wind
turbine.
The
unit
has
performed
without
problems
and
continues
to
meet
design
and
operational
expectations,
according
to
the
Norwegian
company.

Maine
project
would
be
located
about
12-miles

off
Boothbay
Harbour
in
the
Gulf
of
Maine
at
a
water
