EGP
won
the
development
rights
as
part
of
the
“Sureste
1,
phase
2”
tender,
organised
by
the
Mexican
government’s
electricity
agency.
The
$130m
project
will
be
built
on
the
Isthmus
of
Tehuantepec
–
the
shortest
distance
between
the
Gulf
of
Mexico
and
the
Pacific
Ocean
–
in
a
wind
regime
that
EGP
characterises
as
very
good,
with
an
anticipated
load
factor
of
more
than
40%.
The
350GWh
of
estimated
annual
electricity
production
will
be
sold
under
a
20-year
power
purchase
agreement
with
the
federal
Comisión
Federal
de
Electricidad.
