Terra Firma unit buys 150MW project from Terra-Gen

The US wind unit of private equity firm Terra Firma is buying a 150MW wind project in California from US renewable energy company Terra-Gen Power.

Terra Firma's EverPower Wind Holdings is acquiring Alta Wind 6, a wind farm in the Tehachapi Wind Resource Area scheduled to be fully operational by the second half of this year. The project, which consists of 50 Vestas V90-3.0 wind turbines, has a 24-year contract to sell power to Southern California Edison (SCE) and is part of Terra-Gen's Alta Wind Energy Center (AWEC), among the largest wind projects in the world.
