Alstom secures $347m wind turbine supply deal for Brazil

French power-equipment giant Alstom has signed deals totalling €270m ($347m) with Queiroz Galvão, a Brazilian infrastructure group, to supply two wind projects.

The contracts cover the delivery, installation and commissioning of Alstom’s ECO 122 2.7MW turbines at two wind complexes in the northeast of Brazil, as well as operation and maintenance for 10 years.

Alstom has not specified the number of machines involved.

The wind turbines will be produced at Alstom's manufacturing plant in Camaçari in Bahia state, which opened in November 2011. The factory will next year have a 600MW annual capacity, via two working shifts.

Alstom recently announced that it will supply 68 ECO 122 turbines to Casa dos Ventos in Rio Log in to read complete article.
