Iberdrola, Vattenfall hand $30m East Anglia deal to Wood Group

Iberdrola and Vattenfall will develop the East Anglia zone

A consortium of Spanish group Iberdrola and Swedish utility Vattenfall has awarded a €23m ($29.8m) engineering contract to Aberdeen-based Wood Group for its 7.2GW East Anglia UK Round 3 offshore wind development zone.

As part of the contract, Wood Group will construct and operate meteorological stations on the coasts of Norfolk and Suffolk, eastern England. The met-masts will be fabricated by Scottish company Steel Engineering.

Manufacturing begins in November and the met-stations will be installed in summer 2013.
