Boskalis
has
been
hired
by
co-developers
Dong
Energy
and
ScottishPower
Renewables
to
carry
out
seabed
preparatory
works
before
transporting
and
placing
108
turbine
foundations
at
West
of
Duddon
Sands
–
a
389MW
UK
offshore
project.
The
contract
will
be
fulfilled
by
the
Dutch
group’s
Boskalis
Offshore
and
SMIT
Marine
Projects
units,
working
in
conjunction
with
Volker
Construction
International.
Boskalis
will
transport
the
monopiles
and
transition
pieces
from
Aalborg
in
Denmark
to
Belfast,
Northern
Ireland
–
the
operations
base
for
West
of
Duddon
Sands.

layer
will
be
placed
