DZ Bank lead lender for Juwi Wind project in Minnesota

Juwi Wind has secured financing for its 30MW Community Wind South project in southwestern Minnesota that is expected to enter commercial operation later this quarter.

DZ Bank, the fourth biggest bank in Germany, is the lead arranger and provided construction and term loans. KfW IPEX also joined the transaction as a lender. Other financing details were not released by Juwi.

“Juwi’s long standing relationship with DZ Bank in Germany since the late 1990’s aided in the completion and terms of this deal for one of our USA projects,” says Juwi Wind USA chief executive Michael Rucker.

Utility Xcel Energy will purchase all power from the project under long-term contract. The project will utilize 15 REpower MM92 2MW turbines…
