Siemens, Pattern nail down California wind farm contracts

Wind power is an essential aspect of the plans for Desertec. Siemens and developer Pattern Energy have finalized a contract for turbine supply and related services for the 265MW Ocotillo Wind power project in southern California, with most turbine components to be manufactured in the US.

The supply deal encompasses delivery, technical field assistance and commissioning of 112 2.37MW wind turbines, with a two-year service and maintenance contract.
