Canada's Boralex adds 32MW project to French portfolio

The project was initially developed by Gamesa using 16 of its G90 turbines

Canadian renewables developer and power-producer Boralex has agreed to buy the 32MW La Vallee wind project located in the department of Indre, central France.

Boralex says a banking consortium comprising OSEO, Credit Cooperatif and Credit Mutuel Arkea will provide long-term project financing. It expects to complete the deal in mid-December.

Boralex expects La Vallee to start operating by the end of 2013. The project was initially developed by Spain’s Gamesa and will use 16 of its G90 turbines.

“With this project Boralex exceeds the threshold of 200MW of contracted capacity in the French wind sector,” says Patrick Lemaire, chief executive of the company.
