Energimp at 347MW in Brazil as first Ceará 2 wind farm opens

The Quixaba wind farm is the first of eight that make up the Ceará 2 complex

Developer Energimp has boosted its operational wind base in Brazil to 347MW after starting operations at the 25MW Quixaba wind farm in Ceará.

It is Energimp’s 14th Brazilian wind farm and the company – a joint venture between the Argentine turbine group Impsa and pension fund FGTS – has invested R$3bn ($1.46bn) in the country.

Another 117MW is due to enter service soon and Energimp has an additional 339MW contracted.

The Quixaba wind farm is the first of eight that make up the Ceará 2 complex, funded by the Caixa Econômica Federal with funding from Brazilian development bank, BNDES.
