CEO Engel says Vestas still weighing partnership options

Vestas continues to “evaluate” offers from potential partners for its offshore wind turbine business, chief executive Ditlev Engel tells Recharge.

Engel refused to comment on the specifics of any ongoing discussions, or the relationship between talks over offshore and the possible sale of up to a 20% stake in the Danish group to a “strategic investor”.

He also declined to confirm whether talks with Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), which the company announced in August, are still ongoing.

Engel instead pointed to the fact that Vestas' stock market announcement today mentions “enquiries” in the plural in relation to potential partners.
