Vestas has sold the first units of its new V126-3.0 MW turbine after striking a deal for three of the machines with a Finnish customer.
The Danish manufacturer will ship the turbines to developer TuuliWatti, with delivery starting in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The V126-3.0 MW was launched six weeks ago.
The new Vestas turbine is designed for low-wind sites and boasts a 27% increase in rotor swept-area compared to the V112-3.0 MW.
