CanWEA boss calls for 'adult conversation' over energy policy

Wind-energy growth will remain robust in Canada until the end of 2016, but policy uncertainty threatens the long-term health of the industry, says Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) president Robert Hornung.

Many of Canada’s ten provinces will take decisions over the next 18-24 months that will help decide the shape of the country’s electricity mix. While jurisdiction over energy is divided between the federal and provincial governments, the latter have authority over exploration, development, conservation and management of natural resources, as well as generation of electricity.
