Suzlon enters Romania with REpower 25MW turbine deal

Indian wind turbine group has entered the Romanian market via a 25MW deal for its REpower Systems subsidiary, which has also opened an office in Bucharest.

REpower will deliver eight of its 3.2M114 machines to PE DEUS EX, a project company owned by developer WSB International.

The turbines will be delivered to a wind farm in Romania’s northeastern Neamt county. The project is due to be commissioned by autumn next year.

Suzlon says the deal and the launch of a wholly-owned REpower subsidiary in Romania reflect the country’s “tremendous potential” for wind equipment suppliers.

REpower has already supplied turbines to WSB projects in Poland and the Czech Republic.
