E.ON began a charm offensive in southwest Scotland as it proposed three new onshore wind farms totalling up to 234MW in capacity, as some Scottish councils stiffen their resistance to the country’s renewables push.

E.ON underscored its intention to keep the local community “informed” and “involved” as it unveiled its plans for the Benbrack, Enoch Hill and Lorg wind farms.

The trio are 69MW, 81MW and 84MW in capacity, and are located in the southwestern council regions of Dumfries and Galloway and East Ayrshire.

Acknowledging that it is “very early days” for the plans, project developer Nick Taylor emphasised that E.ON intends to “ensure that the local community have their views considered throughout the development”.

The German-owned utility intends to send detailed proposals to all residents within 15km Log in to read complete article.
