Vestas clinches 40MW order to supply wind farm in Poland

Danish wind equipment manufacturer Vestas has booked a 40MW turbine order from Poland.

Vestas will deliver 20 of its V90-2.0 MW machines to a project at Wicko near Gdansk, northern Poland.

The order is from contractor Aldesa Nowa Energia, which is building the wind farm for Polish utility Tauron Polska Energia.

Turbine delivery will start in the second quarter of 2013, with the plant due to be completed during the third quarter.

Vestas says Poland is one of its key target markets. It recently opened an office in Warsaw.
