The 9GW Dogger Bank zone may represent the crucible in which the future European offshore wind industry will either be forged or broken.

But long before it comes into being, it is no exaggeration to say the performance of Scira’s 317MW Sheringham Shoal project, off eastern England, could determine whether Dogger Bank even gets built.

Scira’s owners, Norway’s Statoil and Statkraft, joined SSE and RWE to form the Forewind consortium, which in 2010 won Dogger Bank, the largest UK Round 3 zone awarded.
