Enel Green Power brings Padul wind farm on line in Spain

EGP chief executive Francesco Starace

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power (EGP) has grid-connected an 18MW wind farm in Spain.

The Padul wind farm – named after the municipality near Granada where it is sited – brings to 237MW EGP’s capacity in the autonomous community of Andalusia.

It is equipped with nine Vestas 2MW turbines.

Padul is one of the last EGP plants scheduled for completion that is on the Spanish government's pre-register of approved wind projects.

“We are on track with the timeline for the installation of the remaining plants and pleased with the progress,” says EGP chief executive Francesco Starace.

Note: Update corrects EGP capacity in Andalusia
