Mitsubishi-Vestas link could have pluses for both, says analyst

A possible strategic cooperation agreement between Vestas and Japanese industrial giant Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) could be a good fit for the Danish wind turbine manufacturer, says analyst Håkon Levy from DNB Markets, who closely follows the company.

Vestas revealed late yesterday that it was in talks with MHI regarding a "potential strategic cooperation", but gave no further details.

“Mitsubishi Heavy has a strong balance sheet, an onshore wind portfolio and long experience in capital goods manufacturing – but it lacks the experience that Vestas has, particularly in the offshore sector,” says Levy.
