Arise Windpower buys 400MW project in central Sweden

Arise is using Vestas V112 3.0MW machines at its 203MW Jädraås project

Swedish developer Arise Windpower is buying an onshore project in the country’s central region with a capacity of up to 400MW.

Arise says it has struck a deal with previous owner Bergvik Skog, a forestry group, to acquire the Skaftåsen wind project near Lillhärdal.

The project is designed to feature up to 130 turbines, the company adds. No details of purchase price or project timelines were given.

Arise will now take control of the ongoing development of the wind farm. Environmental permits have been applied for but not yet approved.

The news comes just a few weeks after Arise announced the purchase of the 40-turbine Solberg project from fellow Swedish developer Ownpower.
