The
merger
is
being
driven
by
Vestas’
new
chief
operating
officer
Jean-Marc
Lechene,
who
was
appointed
in
June
to
spearhead
the
company’s
ongoing
cost-reduction
programme.
The
two
heads
of
the
units
being
merged
have
decided
to
leave
Vestas,
the
spokesman
adds,
although
he
was
not
able
to
say
what
the
overall
reduction
in
jobs
would
be
as
a
result
of
the
consolidation.
Lechene
heads
up
the
Vestas
Manufacturing
division,
which
was
formed
as
part
of
the
company’s
major
restructuring
in
November
2011.
