Takeover could see Fuhrländer work with Russian nuclear giant

German wind turbine manufacturer Fuhrländer could find itself working with Rosatom after being taken over by a Ukranian investor with close links to the Russian state nuclear group.

Around 80% of Fuhrländer’s shares are now controlled by an entity called Windgrösse, which is owned by Ukranian investor Maxim Efimov and a group of other unnamed parties.

Efimov is general director and minority shareholder of Kramatorsk-based steel group Energomashspetsstal – which is itself majority-owned by Rosatom.

The Russian nuclear giant said in 2010 that it planned to carve out a significant presence in the wind industry within a decade, including a turbine business.

The German group has been at pains to put some distance between itself and the other business interests…
