Wind group Nordex says sales and orders firm despite H1 loss

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex claims it is outperforming the market despite posting a loss for the first six months of the year.

Nordex reported a 4.4% increase in sales to €421.1m ($520.2m) in the first half of 2012, compared to €403.3m at the same stage in 2011, driven by a 17% growth in its core European market.

However, the company showed a loss before interest and tax (Ebit) of €13.1m, against a positive Ebit of €1.6m.

Nordex says that losses were reduced in the second quarter to €4.2m, compared to a deficit of €9m in the first three months of 2012.
