Contractor sought for Lake Erie soil testing for wind project

Cuyahoga County in Ohio is seeking proposals for engineering services to carry out test borings, soil samplings and analysis in the sediment of Lake Erie near Cleveland where a developer wants to locate a pilot wind project.

The deadline for submission of proposals is 22 August with Cuyahoga officials anticipating a rapid selection decision as they want the work completed this summer. Ohio Department of Natural Resources is collaborating with the county, which is a member of the Great Lakes Energy Development Task Force, a public-private partnership created in 2006.
