Vestas in line for 'Trump row' offshore wind test site

Denmark's Vestas is among the first wave of turbine manufacturers to sign up for the offshore wind test facility in Scotland that US tycoon Donald Trump is trying to halt, Recharge has learned.

Vattenfall's European Offshore Wind Deployment Centre (EOWDC) project, has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with six potential turbine suppliers, the company says.

If it receives final approval, EOWDC – which is the focus of a furious row between Trump and the Scottish government over its effect on views from his golf course – will allow wind equipment manufacturers to put their next-generation machines through their paces in Aberdeen Bay.
