Dutch wind blade producer joins local partner for Brazil plant

Dutch company Global Blade Technology (GBT) has linked with a local wind equipment group to set up a new venture and factory supplying components to the Brazilian market.

GBT and Flessak Energia Eolica (FEEL) of Francisco Beltrão have formed the new company, called GBT do Brasil Equipamentos Eolicos (GBTB).

A new plant with the capacity for two blade production lines will be built near Toledo, Brazil.

One line at the factory will be dedicated to producing blades for a new 900kW direct-drive turbine that FEEL plans to start delivering to the Brazilian market next year.
